How Do I Get My Space Ready For Guests?
1. Clean! add
The space must be spotless! Guests can be finicky. While a guest may feel comfortable with dust in their own home, it doesn’t mean they will put up with dust in yours. Consider hiring a professional cleaner.
2. Remove all personal items. add
- Remove all family photos from the walls.
- All personal clothing, shoes, and jewelry must be removed or consider placing in a locked storage closet.
- All personal toiletries
- Any valuables such as cameras, laptops, etc.
3. Inspect your space for safety. add
- Do you have a fire extinguisher, working fire alarms, and emergency numbers available?
- Do you have a map of emergency escape routes?
4. Can you get a good night’s sleep there?add
- Consider drapes or curtains that block outside light.
- Place a small fan or white noise machine in the bedroom.
- Make sure the bed is comfortable and free of lumps
- Provide extra blankets & pillows
5. Consider items your guests might need.add
- Is there a hairdryer?
- Iron and ironing board available?
- Coffee maker or access to one?
